1928 Mack AB Dump Truck

I saw this 1928 Mack dump truck on Ebay. It did not meet the reserve amount.  Several months later, the owner tried to sell the fenders and dump box on Ebay.  The parts did not sell. I Emailed him and we worked out a deal. Brian picked it up in Massachusetts and delivered it to Ohio.  It was used to build the Cape Cod Canal and sat out for a long time.

The previous owner put some better tires on the fronts. They were too big and kept coming off. The clutch didnt work and the transmission was locked up. The truck was taken apart for restoration. All the parts were loosly assembled when I got it. I got a big break when I found a man near me who was restoring a Mack and was finished with his parts truck. I bought a lot of spare parts including clutch, transmission, starter. I got the drive train straightened out and had a new bottom welded in the dump box.
I get interested in the current project and that gets me out of the house and working on winter days. I got some good parts on Ebay. I did some body work on it and had it painted. Three years later it looks like this..
